Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, ties between Tajikistan and Italy have steadily developed, and both countries are establishing constructive cooperation in various fields. A notable example of such cooperation is the participation of the Italian company “WeBuild” in the implementation of one of Tajikistan’s most important hydropower projects. The package of documents signed during the most recent visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to Italy, as well as the abolition of visa requirements for Italian citizens and holders of diplomatic passports of the Republic of Tajikistan, have created favorable conditions for expanding cooperation and facilitating contacts between the two countries.

The sides also exchanged views on cooperation within international and regional organizations.
