Political Consultations Between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Qatar

On July 15, 2025, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Qatar were held in Doha, State of Qatar under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Farrukh Sharifzoda and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al-Murayhi.

During the consultations, the sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations in the political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. It was emphasized that diplomatic ties between the two countries, built on mutual respect and shared interests, continue to strengthen and provide a solid foundation for expanding cooperation across various sectors.

Special attention was given to the issue of attracting Qatari investments into Tajikistan’s economy, particularly in infrastructure and energy sectors.

The sides also considered topical issues on the international and regional agenda. Among the key topics of the talks are security, countering terrorism and extremism, climate change, food and water security, as well as strengthening cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organizations.

The consultations were held in an atmosphere of friendship, mutual respect, and understanding, giving a fresh impetus to the development of bilateral relations.
